Basic Floor Tracking

On March 21, 2010, in openFloor, by Vlad Cazan

I have refined my tracking software and have found the proper thresholds so that humans are tracked and any random shadows and light will be ignored. Another change I have made is the material for the IR filter on the camera. In the past I have been using a floppy disk cutout and have put it over the lens. I have noticed that there is too much light being blocked by this material. I have found some exposed film which acts much like the floppy disk, but more IR light is coming through and therefor the tracking is much more acurate. In the video below you will notice that it can even trace around arms as well as the whole body.
